Donald Glover is having a golden moment. The multi-hyphenate creative is not only enjoying the fruits of his labor as it relates to his success as an actor, but he continues to put an indelible mark on the music industry with his ever evolving musical output. His “This Is America” video went on to become an indelible part of pop culture history, and now he’s getting a third season of Atlanta. Per Variety:

“Atlanta” has been renewed for a third season at FX, the cable network announced Thursday.

The half-hour comedy series created by Donald Glover was all but guaranteed a renewal, given the strong critical reception the show has received for its first two seasons. Season 1 was nominated for six Emmy Awards, winning two: outstanding lead actor in a comedy series and outstanding directing for a comedy series, with both awards going to Glover. Season 2, which was titled “Atlanta: Robbin’ Season,” currently holds a 99% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

What will be interesting is where Glover heads to next. His roles in franchise films such as Spider-Man: Homecoming and Solo have solidified him as a wanted presence in genre fare. Only time will tell.
