2014’s The Equalizer went on to make $192 million at the box office, and became one of the highest grossing movies of Denzel Washington’s career. Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the film was an adaptation of the CBS series of the same name. Although not prone to do sequels, the popularity of the film made the decision a no-brainer. And with Washington and Fuqua on board for the sequel, we wanted to bring you some casting news. Deadline reports that Moonlight actor Ashton Sanders has landed a role in the follow-up. In addition to Sanders, Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman are back, and Pedro Pascal has signed on as the main villain. Although not much is known about the plot, the follow-up is slated for a September 14, 2018 release date.
