Regardless of what critics may say, I’ll still see this movie in theaters. Starring Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey, The Dark Tower is the long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King’s book series. What people tend to forget about King is the interconnected world he created with not only The Dark Tower book series, but within his entire body of work. You can say that he’s been at the forefront of an interconnected universe within written works. Since the film adaptation is hitting theaters soon, we’re going to get a whole bunch of marketing from the studio. Directed by Nikolaj Arcel, The Dark Tower also stars Tom Taylor, Katheryn Winnick, and Jackie Earle Haley.
The Dark Tower hits theaters on August 4th, 2017.
There are other worlds than these. Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, the ambitious and expansive story from one of the world’s most celebrated authors, makes its launch to the big screen. The last Gunslinger, Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), has been locked in an eternal battle with Walter O’Dim, also known as the Man in Black (Matthew McConaughey), determined to prevent him from toppling the Dark Tower, which holds the universe together. With the fate of the worlds at stake, good and evil will collide in the ultimate battle as only Roland can defend the Tower from the Man in Black.
