As I’ve stated before in pretty much every article about this film, this may be the best franchise reboot of all time. Starring Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, and Judy Greer, War for the Planet of the Apes sets up the final battle between man and ape. Although the film may be the final one in this franchise, I believe Warner Bros will make the right decision and continue the franchise. Not only can they continue to create great narratives, but I would love to see what the “world of apes” looks like post-War for the Planet of the Apes. Also, keep in mind that the franchise has made a ton of money thus far, so multiple follow-ups should be a no-brainer.

War for the Planet of the Apes opens on July 14th.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
