Maybe it’s the sign of the times, but I feel as if we’re seeing an uptick in films that address social issues, past and present. And that’s a good thing. Zero Dark Thirty director Kathryn Bigelow is no stranger to true life narratives, and her latest film Detroit centers on the Detroit riots during the Summer of 1967. We’ve also embedded a video of some of the folks who were witnesses to a rather momentous time in history.
