The last time we wrote about Julia Roberts on this site, we were reporting on her (possible) transition to TV land. But before that happens, she’s starring in a new movie based on a series of books by R.J. Palacio. Wonder centers on August Pullman, a young boy struggling to overcome a facial deformity, all while attempting to fit in at a new school. If that sounds like a possible tear-jerker and awards contender, then so be it. And it’s good to see Roberts back on the big screen. Wonder also stars Jacob Tremblay (The Room) as August, and Owen Wilson as the coolest dad in the world.

Wonder hits theaters on November 17th, 2017.

Based on the New York Times bestseller, WONDER tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade. As his family, his new classmates, and the larger community all struggle to find their compassion and acceptance, Auggie’s extraordinary journey will unite them all and prove you can’t blend in when you were born to stand out.
