When initially announced, Death Note had already undergone its own live-action adaptation in Japan. But that didn’t stop Hollywood from barrelling through with their own. Apparently, this is the finished product. I’m not too sure how to feel about this, but the inclusion of Willem Dafoe as Ryuk may be worth the watch.
Death Note hits Netflix on August 25th, 2017.
Starring Nat Wolff, Margaret Qualley, Keith Stanfield, Paul Nakauchi, Shea Whigham, and Willem Dafoe, and based on the massively popular manga, the story follows a student who discovers a mystical notebook that has the power to kill any person whose name he writes in it, and decides to use it to launch a vigilante campaign against criminals. And it’s probably safe to say there are some real consequences coming his way.
