The long-awaited premiere of Stephen King’s movie adaptation is growing closer. The Dark Tower, starring Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba, hits theaters on July 28th, 2017. The film is ramping up its marketing efforts, and author Stephen King shared the first poster for the film on his Twitter account:

The set photos and such are nice, but will it be good? Stephen King has had many of his works come to the big screen quite effortlessly. Some were hits (The Green Mile, The Shawshank Redemption ), and some were misses (Mercy, Cell). The pedigree behind his latest book to movie adaptation will hopefully cement it as one of the hits.

Jake Chambers (Tom Taylor) is a young 11-year-old adventure seeker who discovers clues about another dimension called Mid-World. Upon following the mystery, he is spirited away to Mid-World where he encounters the lone frontiersman knight Roland Deschain (Idris Elba), who is on a quest to reach the ‘Dark Tower’ that resides in End-World and reach the nexus point between time and space that he hopes will save Mid-World from extinction. But with various monsters and a vicious sorcerer named Walter Padick (Matthew McConaughey) hot on their trail, the unlikely duo find that their quest may be difficult to complete.
