Get ready to satiate your 90s teen movie nostalgia. BOOM! Studios is bringing the girls of Clueless to a local comic book shop near you. Per io9:

Boom Studios is bringing back the girls from Beverly Hills for an all-new adventure, written by total Betties Amber Benson (Tara from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Sarah Kuhn (Heroine Complex), and illustrated by fellow Betty Siobhan Keenan (Adventure Time). According to the press release, the comic continues the journey of Cher, Dionne, and Tai as they surf the metaphorical crimson wave of senior year at Bronson Alcott High School. They struggle to figure out their plans after high school, and discover what they want to do with the rest of their lives.

Continuing TV and/or movie narratives in another form is nothing new. Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and even Fight Club have all received the “continuing the narrative in comic book form” treatment. It’s another way for creatives and/or movie studios to expand on stories without breaking the bank, or risking fallout when a prequel or sequel doesn’t get the reception it imagined. I’m still waiting for the comic book version of the sequel to Roadhouse (I’m going to pretend that Road House 2 doesn’t exist).
