The live-action adaptation of one of the most popular animated movies has been a long time coming. Starring Scarlett Johansson and Michael Pitt, Ghost in the Shell centers on Johansson’s Major, and the cyber-crime task force known as Section 9. The film has been through a bit of a backlash, due to the casting of White actors in an originally Japanese setting. Although the cast includes Asian actors in supporting roles, the accusations of whitewashing continue to dog the film. And with the release of the film fast approaching, Paramount Pictures has just released new teaser trailers.

Ghost in the Shell is directed by Rupert Sanders, and is expected to hits theaters March 31, 2017.
